Course Definitions:

BLS Provider-3-hour course (no pre-course education)

ACLS/PALS-Provider-2-day course (pre-course education)

ACLS/PALS update-1 day course (pre-course education)

BLS/ACLS/PALS HeartCode elearning -1 hours skills checkoff (pre-course education)

Course Requirements:

1. If you register for an update or provider ACLS and PALS, the initial course will be two (2) days (8a-5p) unless on a campus other than Winston Salem. If you choose a one-day initial course, it will be an all-day course (8a-5p). You MUST complete the pre-course self-assessment AND pre-course work for any ACLS or PALS Provider Initial or Update course. To find the education and videos; go to www.elearning.heart.org. Click on the "Courses" dropdown (under the heart and torch logo), select ACLS or PALS, scroll through boxes in the middle of the page until you find the correct one. Click on the red button that says, "Launch This Course". Sign in or create an account with AHA. Begin the education. Print or take a picture of the completion certificate and bring it with you to course.  

2. If you register for a BLS/ACLS/PALS HeartCode- eLearning course, then you will receive an additional email with a link to complete your eLearning prior to attending the hour skills checkoff.  Please pay attention to the date, time and location you registered to attend your skills check off. (The BLS elearning takes approximately 2-3 hours; the ACLS and PALS can take as much as 8 or so hours.) The eLearning education is sent to the email address you submit on your registration either in 24 hours or after a weekend or holiday once the registration is processed. If you don't see it immediately, please do a search for "eLearning.heart.org". Print or take a picture of the completion certificate.
